BILLING SPECIALIST- LEXINGTON INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONSULTANTS – (FULL- TIME)

 

 

Lexington Infectious Disease Consultants, PSC, is a busy 11 physician practice seeking a qualified professional for our Billing Specialist position.  Our practice takes care of the medical needs of patients with various types of infectious processes and provides IV antibiotic therapy.  The physicians see inpatients at Baptist Health -Lexington, St. Joseph Hospital, St. Joseph East, Select Specialty, Cardinal Hill, Continuing Care Hospital, and Samaritan Hospital. We are conveniently located on the Baptist Health-Lexington hospital campus. 

 

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for a multitude of tasks related to the daily operations within the LIDC Billing Department.  He/she will be assigned two or more insurance carriers to work denials.  He/she will also post insurance and patient payments in LIDC’s Practice Management software.  He/she will be cross-trained in other areas of the Billing Office to allow for cross-coverage when necessary.  He/she will also be assigned one or two physicians’ daily schedules to determine who needs to be counseled for balance and/or infusion benefits. This Billing Specialist will be the contact person responsible for patients’ accounts that have been turned over to collections. Finally, this position may be trained to obtain and track Medicaid office visit authorizations and/or infusion authorizations.

 

All applicants should have some work experience in a medical office, excellent customer service skills, be professional and courteous in tone and information delivery, and possess strong organizational skills.  We are seeking an individual who thrives in a fast-paced office environment and is capable of balancing multiple tasks while exceeding the expectations of our physicians and patients.  

 

The work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch.  Benefits include:  Health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, paid holidays, potential bonuses, and 401(K) with profit sharing.
